Area Manager - Utilities

$180-220k + package

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Utilities Area Manager to oversee and manage packages in the Auckland region. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading teams, managing budgets, programming, and ensuring the successful execution of projects within the utilities sector.


  • Lead and manage all aspects of utilities projects in the designated area, including water, sewer, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Develop and execute project plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring alignment with company objectives and client requirements.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project delivery and adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Manage project budgets, monitor project costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings and optimization.
  • Lead and mentor project teams, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure project success and team development.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and company policies and procedures.


  • Proven experience in managing utilities projects, with a strong understanding of water, sewer, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing teams, budgets, programming, and project delivery.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management software and other relevant tools.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project scopes and priorities, and to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
