Role Overview:
As an Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates for a wide range of civil and infrastructure projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure that projects are accurately priced and aligned with client expectations. Experience in infrastructure, pump stations, pipelines, substations, or large civil projects is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for infrastructure projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Analyze project drawings, specifications, and scope to develop accurate and competitive estimates.
• Collaborate with project teams to understand project requirements and develop cost-effective solutions.
• Assess risks and identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality or safety.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to obtain pricing and ensure estimates are aligned with current market conditions.
• Review and evaluate tenders and contracts to ensure that all elements of the project are covered.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, pricing models, and construction methodologies.
• Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and project documentation.
Qualifications and Experience:
• A degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Previous experience as an Estimator in construction, civil engineering, or infrastructure projects.
• Experience in estimating for pump stations, pipelines, substations, or large civil infrastructure projects is preferred but not essential.
• Strong understanding of construction costs, materials, and labor requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in estimating.
• Proficiency in estimation software.
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• A proactive, solution-oriented approach to estimating and problem-solving.
