We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer with a mechanical background to join our client’s team delivering pump station projects across New Zealand. This role involves managing the design, procurement, and installation of mechanical systems, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the mechanical aspects of pump station projects from concept to commissioning.
- Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure technical compliance.
- Prepare and review technical specifications, drawings, and documentation.
- Manage procurement of mechanical equipment, including pumps, valves, and associated systems.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules, reporting to the Project Manager.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 3+ years’ experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in water infrastructure or pump stations.
- Strong understanding of pumps, piping systems, and rotating equipment.
