We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Engineer with civil engineering expertise to join our client in Auckland. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of civil infrastructure projects, ensuring they meet project requirements, timelines, and budgetary constraints. You will work closely with site teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects such as roads, drainage systems, earthworks, and utilities.
  • Prepare, review, and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure project milestones are met and work is executed to the required standards.
  • Perform technical reviews of drawings, designs, and specifications to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Conduct site inspections, monitor progress, and ensure that quality control procedures are followed throughout the construction process.
  • Provide technical guidance to site teams, troubleshooting issues, and resolving any engineering-related challenges.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety standards on-site, conducting safety audits and risk assessments where necessary.
  • Manage project documentation, including reports, schedules, and variations, ensuring all records are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to ensure that project requirements and expectations are met.
  • Manage the procurement of materials, equipment, and resources, ensuring they are available and on-site as needed.
  • Report regularly to the Project Manager and senior management on project progress, risks, and any corrective actions taken.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 3-7 years of proven experience in civil infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Project).
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving abilities, with experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex project challenges.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Full driver’s license.
