Carmichael are currently seeking a permanent Project Engineer to work for a well known civils contractor in the Tauranga area.
This position offers a mix of office and on-site responsibilities, allowing you to be hands-on in project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning: Collaborate with project managers to develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgeting.
- Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance to ensure construction works comply with engineering standards, project specifications, and local regulations.
- Site Management: Oversee daily site activities, monitor progress, and address any technical or operational challenges.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain high standards across all project stages.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution and alignment with project goals.
- Health and Safety: Enforce compliance with health and safety protocols, fostering a safe working environment for all team members.
- Reporting: Prepare regular progress reports, highlighting key milestones, risks, and proposed solutions.
- Cost Control: Monitor project budgets and identify opportunities to optimize resources without compromising quality.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably with a focus infrastructure projects.
- Project Management: Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and methodologies.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder interaction and documentation.
- Driver’s License: A valid New Zealand driver’s license is required.
