Our client is a renowned civil engineering consultancy with an office in Christchurch, dedicated to delivering innovative and sustainable infrastructure solutions. We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee multiple projects in the Christchurch region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership and Oversight:
    • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex civil engineering projects.
    • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget management.
    • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Strategic Management:
    • Provide strategic direction and guidance to project teams, ensuring alignment with company goals and client expectations.
    • Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from initiation to closure, ensuring seamless integration of all project components.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Act as the primary liaison for key clients, maintaining strong, positive relationships.
    • Provide regular project updates and reports to clients, addressing any concerns promptly.
    • Ensure client satisfaction by consistently meeting or exceeding their requirements and expectations.
  • Risk and Quality Management:
    • Identify and assess project risks, developing and implementing mitigation strategies.
    • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and industry standards.
    • Implement and oversee rigorous quality control measures, ensuring all deliverables meet technical specifications and client requirements.
  • Financial Management:
    • Manage project budgets, ensuring financial performance aligns with forecasts.
    • Prepare and present financial reports and forecasts to senior management.
    • Approve project expenditures and manage cost control processes, optimizing resource allocation.
  • Team Development and Mentorship:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop project team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
    • Conduct regular team meetings to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Coordinate and manage interactions with stakeholders, including engineers, architects, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
    • Ensure effective communication and collaboration among all project participants.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years post-graduate experience in the civil engineering industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in project management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines effectively.
