Role Overview:
As a Civil Engineer specializing in tailings, you will be responsible for the planning, design, and delivery of tailings storage facilities and associated infrastructure. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop tailings storage facilities (TSFs), dams, and related civil engineering structures.
- Perform site investigations, geotechnical assessments, and material evaluations to inform designs.
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports to support project requirements.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to deliver safe and sustainable solutions.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction and ensure adherence to design and regulatory standards.
- Perform stability and risk assessments of existing and planned tailings infrastructure.
- Contribute to innovation in tailings management, focusing on sustainability and environmental impact.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in the design, construction, or operation of tailings storage facilities or related infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of tailings management principles, geotechnical stability, and hydrological considerations.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, GeoStudio, or similar tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work with clients and project teams.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices in tailings management.
